A staple of their live sets over the past year, Cold Habit was written, produced, recorded and mixed guerilla style by main tape Zack Yusof at his Home Sweet Home studio in Perth, Western Australia. Mastering for Cold Habit was handled by Kramer - nineties underground master musician (Shockabilly, Bongwater), composer, hit record producer, Shimmy-Disc label founder and the man associated with the formation of the "slowcore" movement, thanks to his production work for two seminal bands of the era: Low and Galaxie 500 - over at his studio in the US sunshine state of Florida.

Speaking about Cold Habit, Zack says: “The song is about a relationship gone sour, that dark time when familiarity breeds contempt and contempt turns into toxic vindictiveness. The first person character in the song is consumed by anger and bitterness and thinks that by conspiring to get his own back, he will regain the contentment and happiness that he has lost. He is wrong by a very long shot but remains in denial.”

“Cold Habit was my attempt at writing a modern country blues track,” elaborates Zack. “I’d been listening to an old Leadbelly album that I had purchased at a record fair for $2 a while back and wondered how the esteemed gentleman christened Huddie William Ledbetter by his parents might have sounded if he had a sizable pedal board at his disposal. Obviously Cold Habit is nothing like Leadbelly but to my ears, it’s the blues that we’re playing.”
